Requirements of Energy Australia
Energy Australia selected Aerobelt to replace the decommissioned conveyor system at their Mount Piper Power Station, following the ongoing success of their 400 tph flyash conveyor system installed in 2008. The original conveyor system experienced significant wear and damage to the belt, requiring continuous repairs. This new installation allowed Energy Australia the opportunity to incorporate mixed salts from a nearby coal mine into the flyash and brine mixture, which necessitated the addition of an extra ash conditioner in order to achieve a consistent blend.

Aerobelt Solution
Aerobelt successfully supplied a turnkey solution that included a 700mm wide stainless-steel skin conveyor to resist the corrosive effects of the brine, supporting steelwork structures, and the civil, mechanical, and electrical installation of the system in a timely manner. In addition, Aerobelt successfully integrated the weigher sections necessary for the ash conditioner to ensure a consistent mixture. The new conveyors operate at the required 400 tph at a drastically lower power demand, a key factor in Energy Australia’s decision to again select Aerobelt’s conveyors for this application.
